Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator II to administer, secure, monitor, and improve cloud and on-premises infrastructure, primarily AWS.

This remote role supports AWS, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Windows, networking, and endpoint technologies, with responsibilities spanning design, security, automation, and modernization. You will manage AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53), Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, and Cisco networking, while ensuring least-privilege

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of progressively responsible systems, infrastructure, cloud, networking, and cybersecurity experience in highly available hybrid environments.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Preferred certifications include Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365/Entra ID, AWS Solutions Architect or SysOps, CCNA/CCNP, Security+, CISSP/SSCP, ITIL Foundation.
• Experience with AWS and Azure; Microsoft 365 and Entra ID; Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP; PowerShell; Defender and endpoint management; Cisco routing, switching, wireless, VPN, and network security; virtualization, backup, DR, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Ability to interpret technical and business documentation and communicate technical information clearly to IT staff, management, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze data, diagnose cross-platform issues, and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining service quality.

Responsibilities

• Administer, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot AWS services and on-premises infrastructure.
• Provide Level II support for cloud, server, network, identity, and application infrastructure issues.
• Automate administration with PowerShell and maintain monitoring, alerting, and documentation.
• Support change governance, modernization, and disaster recovery planning.
• Plan, test, deploy, and document infrastructure and security projects.
