Job summary

Network Designs, Inc. (NDi) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support FAA data initiatives under the EIDIP program. The role will design, deploy, and operate secure cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure across AWS GovCloud, commercial cloud, Azure, and hybrid environments.

You will work remotely from the United States, with residency in AL, AZ, DC, FL, GA, ID, MD, MS, NJ, NC, OK, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, or WV. Occasional travel to FAA facilities may be required during ET business hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of cloud engineering or similar professional experience.
• Experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure in enterprise or government environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud or AWS Commercial Cloud, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS, and cloud networking.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation, operational monitoring, scalability, resiliency, and secure cloud configuration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Contractor Personnel Suitability.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate secure cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure supporting enterprise data and application platforms.
• Build and maintain cloud networking, Virtual Private Clouds, identity and access management, containerized services, serverless services, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, and recovery capabilities.
• Develop and sustain infrastructure-as-code and automation that supports repeatable environment configuration, deployment, scaling, and operational management.
• Support platform modernization, legacy-to-cloud assessments, migration pilots, cutover planning, resiliency improvements, and cost-efficient cloud operations.
• Support cloud security and governance requirements, including patching, vulnerability remediation, logging, monitoring, configuration management, and technical documentation.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, system documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks, metrics, and operational artifacts.
• Coordinate with platform, application, data, DevOps, architecture, and security teams to resolve incidents, dependencies, and implementation risks.
