Job summary

Cerence is seeking a FinOps Developer to manage cloud cost reporting and tooling in a global Azure-first environment. You will modernize data pipelines, improve cost accountability, and build scalable FinOps processes to keep Cerence cost-efficient.

You’ll collaborate across teams to drive governance and automate FinOps tasks using AI. The role requires 2+ years in FinOps or related fields, strong tooling knowledge, and experience with SQL, Power BI, and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in FinOps, cloud engineering, or related disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of cost management using Azure, AWS, and GCP and third‑party tools.
• Experience with SQL, data analysis, reporting platforms, and dashboards (Power BI preferred).
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or cost optimization initiatives.
• Clear communication translating ideas into requirements and deliverables.
• Experience with data pipelines on platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Kubecost, Python, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Improve cloud cost reporting across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Define, design, implement, ship, and maintain operationally excellent tooling for budgeting, variance analysis, anomaly detection, and executive reporting.
• Maintain and enhance data pipelines, reporting models, dashboards, and automation for FinOps.
• Improve cost allocation through labeling, tagging, allocation, showback, and chargeback processes.
• Support cost optimization initiatives and drive efficiency.
• Manage reporting/analytics solutions including SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cloud financial accountability.
• Document operational, development, deployment, and collaboration processes.
• Leverage AI to accelerate and automate tasks and processes.
