Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering Lead to join the Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, focusing on Azure-based IaaS/PaaS/SaaS deployments and modernization for DoD programs. The role emphasizes design, build, and migration work, with ongoing security and architectural governance.

The candidate will mentor engineers, collaborate across teams, and drive scalable cloud solutions that support thousands of users while adhering to federal security standards and DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of relevant experience for leadership role.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud solutions on Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Experience with IDAM solutions (AzureAD, CyberArk, Okta).
• Experience with IaC and CI/CD tools and automation (Ansible, Azure Functions).
• Understanding of federal security standards (NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
• Strong communication and collaboration in distributed teams.
• Current IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+ or CISSP).

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership and mentoring to a team of cloud engineers.
• Design and deploy cloud architectures as code for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS in Azure.
• Contribute to enterprise cloud and mission architecture designs.
• Evaluate architectures to align with modernization strategies.
• Identify improvements to user experience, efficiency, and cost.
• Enforce security best practices and data security guidelines.
• Foster career growth and performance within the team.
• Scale cloud solutions and migrate data center capabilities to the cloud.
