Job summary

Availity is seeking a Cloud Engineer IV to hands‑on manage cloud infrastructure, including AWS EKS, Terraform, Terragrunt, and CI/CD automation. You will work with Cloud Architects, Security, and Product to ensure stable, secure, and scalable cloud operations.

The role emphasizes incident response, runbooks, documentation, and on‑call readiness, requiring strong collaboration and independent problem‑solving across Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience with cloud implementations, production cloud operations, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • 4+ years of practical public cloud experience, with AWS strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provision, operate, and improve AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, CloudFormation, and approved automation patterns.
  • Administer and troubleshoot AWS EKS/Kubernetes environments, including cluster health, node group lifecycle, workloads, networking dependencies, and operational readiness.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, CI/CD workflows, and automation to reduce manual effort, improve repeatability, and strengthen production support.
  • Support EC2, Windows, Linux, AMI image creation, patching coordination, and other infrastructure lifecycle activities within CloudOps standards.
  • Improve observability by strengthening dashboards, alerts, logs, metrics, and runbooks for production services.
  • Participate in the on‑call rotation, incident response, escalations, and post‑incident improvement activities for cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  • Monitor and manage ServiceNow and Jira work throughout sprint cycles, including operational tasks, change records, incidents, requests, and project deliverables.
  • Participate in daily standups and status check‑ins, provide clear updates, and identify risks, blockers, and dependencies early.
  • Read and understand system, functional, security, and operational requirements; report gaps to Technical Leads, Cloud Architects, and stakeholders.
  • Write technical specifications, implementation notes, operational documentation, and runbooks that enable repeatable support and knowledge sharing.
  • Consult with Cloud Architects and business partners to confirm scope, effort, testing plans, implementation approach, and operational hand‑off.
  • Accurately scope project time and resources required to complete assigned work, reviewing estimates with senior staff as needed.
  • Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and debugging for infrastructure changes and automation before production release.
  • Mentor junior associates, promote CloudOps standards, and model senior-level ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
