Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer to support WaveMark Solutions, a large health-tech SaaS platform. The role focuses on reliability, performance, security, automation, and disaster recovery for cloud databases across production and non-production environments.

This remote US position requires 5+ years in Oracle database management in regulated settings, plus experience with AWS RDS or GCP, scripting, CI/CD, and data governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• 5+ years of experience managing production Oracle databases in a regulated healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with Oracle database administration and cloud platforms such as AWS RDS or GCP preferred.
• Knowledge of CI/CD platforms and Infrastructure as Code preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle (primary), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases in managed cloud environments.
• Build and manage monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems to track database health.
• Establish and maintain operational standards, documentation, and runbooks.
• Support application deployments and database releases.
• Analyze and optimize database performance across production and non-production environments.
• Perform root cause analysis of performance incidents.
• Design, execute, and automate database refresh processes between production and non-production environments.
• Design and implement data masking processes for non-production environments.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and application teams to support regulatory audits.
• Partner with security teams to enhance data governance and access controls.
• Collaborate with software teams to modernize deployment automation and data movement architectures.
• Design and test backup, restore, replication, and failover strategies.
