Cardinal Health is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer for WaveMark Solutions to own reliability, uptime, performance, security, automation, and deployments for cloud databases. You will work closely with software development and IT teams to drive observability, resilience, and continuous delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing production Oracle databases in a regulated healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with Oracle and cloud database platforms such as AWS RDS or GCP preferred.
• Knowledge of database automation, scripting, and deployment processes preferred.
• Familiarity with observability frameworks and telemetry-driven operations preferred.
• Knowledge of site reliability engineering principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, automated remediation) preferred.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD platforms and infrastructure as code preferred.
• Understanding of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, FedRAMP, or HITRUST preferred.
• Familiarity with CDC technologies preferred.
• Experience in Kubernetes-based environments preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills preferred.

Responsabilités

• Administer Oracle (primary), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases in managed cloud environments.
• Build and manage monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems to track database health.
• Establish and maintain operational standards, documentation, and runbooks.
• Support application deployments and database releases.
• Analyze and optimize database performance across environments.
• Perform root cause analysis of performance incidents.
• Design and automate database refresh processes between environments.
• Design data masking processes for non-production environments.
• Collaborate with security/compliance and application teams for audits.
• Partner with security teams on data governance and access controls.
• Collaborate with developers to modernize deployment automation and data movement architectures.
• Design and test backup/restore/redundancy strategies for recovery objectives.
