Qualifications

• CCDS, CDEI, or CDIP certification is required.
• Active clinical license (RN, NP, PA, or MD) is required.
• At least two years of CDI experience; three years in IP CDI reviews preferred.
• Experience with clinical documentation improvement and DRG-related coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical documentation tasks, meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Adhere to AHIMA and ACDIS guidelines for documentation improvement.
• Review clinical documentation and issue queries as appropriate.
• Review medical records for completeness and accuracy of severity of illness and mortality risk.
• Analyze findings to identify root causes of errors and documentation gaps.
• Demonstrate knowledge of DRG payer issues and documentation requirements.
