Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with clients in the United States, designing, building, and deploying AI, data, cloud, and digital solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. You will act as a trusted technical advisor across architecture, implementation, and deployment efforts with a focus on cloud-native, API-driven solutions.

The role requires experience in Generative AI, RAG, and enterprise integrations, with strong communication and project delivery skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, customer-facing engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, including APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, enterprise integrations, stakeholder management, and client-facing consulting engagements.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions and driving projects from concept through production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with client stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and technical requirements while serving as a trusted technical advisor.
• Lead discovery workshops, technical assessments, and solution envisioning sessions to translate business needs into scalable solution architectures and implementation roadmaps.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations that accelerate time-to-value.
• Build and implement Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, including AI copilots, intelligent workflows, and autonomous agents.
• Own technical delivery across client-facing initiatives, driving rapid iteration, production readiness, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
