Job summary

Akka is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) who balances sharp technical capability with elite client-facing communication. This remote Australia role will lead workshops, architectural deep-dives, and hands-on training to deploy production-grade applications on our Akka platform.

You will mentor customer teams, guide AI and systems engineering, share best practices for SRE and DevOps, and partner with Akka Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap based on real-world friction.

Qualifications

• Native-level English verbal and written fluency.
• Experience with distributed computing and functional programming concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Akka (Clustering, Persistence, Streams) is highly desirable.
• Ability to learn new languages/frameworks quickly and write code/prototypes.

Responsibilities

• High-touch client enablement, technical training, and workshops.
• Guide production deployments with AI & systems engineering.
• Provide SRE, DevOps guidance and container orchestration advice.
• Bridge customer feedback to product and engineering teams.
