Job summary

Burkland Associates is seeking an Accounting Project and Implementation Specialist for a remote role supporting project-based accounting, historical cleanups, and client onboarding. You will help implement new tools, test processes, and ensure engagements stay on scope and budget.

Required: 5+ years of hands-on accounting with U.S. GAAP, bachelor's in accounting, and experience driving process improvements and tool adoption. CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (minimum).
• 5+ years hands-on accounting including month-end close, reconciliations, and GAAP-based financial prep.
• Experience creating new processes and driving tool adoption.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements remotely and within fixed scopes.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage historical cleanup and new-client onboarding/implementation engagements.
• Reconstruct and reconcile historical records and set up client environments.
• Flag changes affecting pricing and track hours in real time.
• Provide final handoff deliverables and maintain client communications.
