Job summary

Gallagher seeks a detail-oriented Claims Assistant to support our Workers' Compensation Claims team. This remote role is based in California and requires organizing claims, processing payments, and ensuring timely, accurate documentation for injured workers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; strong math and writing skills.
• Ability to pass required licensing exams within three attempts.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel; familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain new claims files; enter data accurately.
• Process indemnity payments, benefit calculations, and payment cycles.
• Review wage statements and perform wage calculations.
• Monitor claims to identify penalties and escalation needs.
• Coordinate with claims examiners, nurse case managers, doctors, attorneys, and clients.
