Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Designer for a REMOTE WORK role to support heavy industrial projects across oil & gas, chemical, power, manufacturing and metals sectors.

The role emphasizes AutoCAD proficiency and detailed design drawings for foundations, piping, steel structures, and piperacks. You will work with multi-discipline teams, review drawings, update CAD standards, and mentor junior designers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required, AS degree preferred.
• 5+ years civil/structural drafting and design in heavy industrial environments.
• Knowledge of industry standards.
• Proficient with AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit.
• 3D modeling of structures and CadWorx.
• Self-starter with strong communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual drawings, sketches and material takeoffs for concrete and steel.
• Create detailed design drawings for foundations, grading, piping, piperack and supports.
• Review vendor shop/fabrication drawings and update CAD drawings from redlines.
• Collaborate with civil/structural/mechanical/electrical teams throughout the design process.
• Mentor junior designers and provide first level oversight.
• Attend weekly project meetings and ensure CAD standards accuracy.
