Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Civil Sales Engineer (Engineered Solutions Specialist) for its Geo Stormwater team. This remote role requires regular travel within Texas and Louisiana, with face-to-face meetings and site visits.

Residence in the greater Houston area is preferred to perform duties efficiently, with an option to work from home when not traveling. The role focuses on promoting engineered stormwater products to civil engineers, municipalities, and landscape architects, building opportunities

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree or Engineering license preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience with innovative products in Geosynthetics/Stormwater space preferred.
• Prior technical writing experience including proposals, emails, and submittals required.
• Competent and engaging public speaker.
• Strong computer proficiency including use of Microsoft applications and navigating multiple software systems.
• Basic reporting experience using Excel with sorting, filtering, and data compilation.
• Prior use of Salesforce CRM is a bonus but not required.
• Demonstrated relationship building, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and multitasking across urgent requests.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in technical and user-friendly language.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and enhance Ferguson’s position in the marketplace to influence agencies, owners, and specifiers.
• Increase awareness of Ferguson Geo/Stormwater products at events and meetings.
• Prepare and present technical presentations in assigned geography.
• Research local green infrastructure codes to build targeted sales strategies.
• Visit end users, engineering firms, and contractors to expand product awareness.
• Coordinate and manage projects through the specification process with the Regional Design Engineer/Technical Designer.
• Support national growth initiatives of Geosynthetics and Stormwater team.
• Assist contractors and municipalities with installation and maintenance practices for green infrastructure.
• Provide timely feedback on activities and track the sales pipeline.
