Job summary

3 Rocks Engineering & Surveying seeks an experienced Project Engineer (Civil E3) to serve as the technical lead for its civil site development group.

You will own the technical design for commercial sites, subdivisions, and utilities, and lead a team of engineers and drafters. You will mentor staff, review work, and ensure quality output.

A dedicated project manager handles scope, schedules, and client communication, so your time can focus on design excellence and team development.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain licensure within two months of hire.
• Six or more years of hands-on grading, drainage, and utility design experience (with strong site development expertise).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Direct experience leading technical team members, managing engineers/drafters, or serving as a project lead.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for the civil site development team, owning design approaches and quality.
• Lead and mentor a team of five engineers and drafters, assigning workload and reviewing work.
• Coordinate with the project manager on scope, schedules, budgets, and client communication to ensure high-quality deliverables.
