Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Civil Engineer with a focus on water resource management for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role involves assessing resources, designing infrastructure, and contributing to policy development to ensure sustainable water use.

You will work on projects impacting the community and environment. Ideal candidates have strong analytical skills, 7+ years in the field, and experience with GIS and hydraulic design in a regulatory context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master’s in Water Resources preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in water resource engineering, planning, and project management.
• Experience with hydrological modeling and hydraulic design.
• Familiarity with South African water legislation and environmental policies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess water resources for municipal and agricultural uses.
• Design water infrastructure projects such as dams, canals, and treatment plants.
• Develop integrated water resource management plans.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments related to water projects.
