Placements24 is seeking a Remote Civil Engineer to lead the design and oversight of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optics, data centers, and towers. You will work in a remote-first environment, coordinating with multicompany teams, reviewing plans, and ensuring code compliance.

Ideal candidates have a civil engineering background with 5+ years in infrastructure design, CAD proficiency, and strong communication skills to support project execution across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience focused on infrastructure design and project coordination.
• Experience with telecommunications, fiber optics, or data centers is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and related engineering design tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan civil aspects of digital infrastructure projects including site acquisition, layout design, and utility coordination.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specs for construction using CAD software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for new infrastructure deployments.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards for telecom infrastructure.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and permitting authorities to secure approvals.
• Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, and stakeholders in a remote team environment.
• Provide technical support to construction teams during implementation.
• Review and approve design changes, shop drawings, and submittals from contractors.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including as-built drawings and reports.
• Develop standardized design procedures and best practices for digital infrastructure.
