Job summary

Network Building + Consulting is seeking a Civil Engineer to support telecom project teams with new site development, modification of facilities, fiber optic networks, and other project types in a hybrid role. You will create engineering drawings, maintain CAD standards, and evaluate constructability.

Responsibilities include producing CAD drawings, learning client-specific equipment usage, and reviewing blueprints and plans to ensure accurate, timely deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferred.
• 0–3 years experience producing engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to review site documentation and gather necessary information to complete assignments.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering drawings using AutoCAD for telecommunications new site builds, modification projects, site upgrades, and fiber optic builds.
• Track assigned tasks and prioritize completion accordingly.
• Maintain NB+C CAD standards and templates.
• Learn and apply telecommunications and client‑specific equipment usage.
• Learn conduit design from client‑specific standards.
• Read and analyze existing blueprints, construction drawings, and plans.
• Routinely produce accurate drawings promptly and efficiently.
• Complete CAD drawings independently in a timely manner.
• Learn construction methods and best practices.
• Evaluate designs for constructability.

Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer is a hybrid position that will support the project teams with varying degrees of direct project responsibilities while developing a baseline knowledge of the telecommunications site development process. Project work will focus on new site development of macro and small cell sites, the modification of existing telecommunications facilities, fiber optic networks, and other project types as required. Responsibilities will focus on the completion of design drawings while developing an understanding of client-specific telecommunications equipment and their usage.
