Job summary

gpac is seeking a highly motivated Civil Litigation Attorney to join one of our client firms. This role targets an attorney with 2–6 years of litigation experience and offers hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and the ability to manage cases through all stages of litigation.

The position involves a broad range of challenging litigation work, courtroom appearances, research, and drafting pleadings while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• NC licensed civil litigation attorney with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Experience defending civil litigation claims with preference for construction, products, professional, premises and commercial litigation.
• Experience handling discovery, motion practice, and depositions.
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Trial preparation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage various phases of litigation for assigned cases.
• Perform discovery, draft pleadings, motions and briefs.
• Conduct depositions and report case updates to managing attorney and clients.
• Appear before state and federal courts and develop facts for cases.
• Provide sound legal arguments and strategy throughout litigation.
