Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Designer (AutoCAD Civil 3D) to deliver CAD drawings for civil and geotechnical projects. You will develop layouts, grading plans and details, while coordinating with CAD staff to maintain standards across multiple projects.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of drafting in civil engineering, proficiency with Civil 3D/Map3D, ArcGIS, and strong communication. Position offers hybrid/remote/on-site options across US locations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Drafting and a minimum of five (5) years related experience in a professional civil engineering setting.
• Autodesk AutoCAD Certified Professional examination within the last 3 years (preferred).
• Experience developing grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, surfaces and earthwork for large civil projects.
• Experience with surveying/mapping data and GIS data (land/aerial).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Map3D; ArcGIS and MicroStation familiarity (preferred).
• Ability to read redline drawings and apply geometry/trigonometry to design.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and finalize design plans using Geosyntec drafting standards.
• Visualize civil/geotechnical concepts and translate them into drawings.
• Analyze input material to determine best design approach for drawing sets.
• Manage production of drawing sets from creation to modification.
• Mentor and supervise CAD technicians and review work quality.
• Assist CAD department with effort estimation and file management standards.
• Collaborate with CAD team to improve standards and efficiencies.
