Job summary

The Department of City Planning in New York City is seeking a detail-oriented Citywide Address Technician to support the Citywide Address Assignment Team. You will handle a high volume of address requests from homeowners, small businesses, and developers while ensuring data accuracy and effective customer service.

Under supervision, you will research and update geographic data, perform quality checks, coordinate with city agencies, and help publish datasets.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six months of satisfactory full-time experience in research which involves gathering, organizing and analyzing data, and report writing.
• An associate degree from an accredited college, or completion of 60 semester credits at an accredited college, and two years and six months of satisfactory full-time experience in research which involves gathering, organizing and analyzing data, and report writing.
• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years and six months of satisfactory full-time experience in research which involves gathering, organizing and analyzing data, and report writing.
• Education and experience equivalent to the above; substitutions allowed under specified rules.

Responsibilities

• Execute address assignment functions where accuracy and attention to detail are central to service delivery.
• Provide relevant customer service support to constituents, homeowners, developers, agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Research, analyze, validate, correct, maintain and update geographic data files using related spatial data, imagery, and other resources.
• Perform quality assurance of data files.
• Document and innovate work procedures and methodologies.
• Execute geographic processing programs, coordinate data releases, and publish datasets.
