The City of New York, Department of City Planning, is seeking a Mapping and Spatial Records Specialist to build a city-wide GIS dataset and translate the City Map from paper to a digital form using ArcGIS. You will update coverages after rezonings and prepare sketch maps for citywide changes.

Reporting to the Mapping and Spatial Records Team Leader, you will coordinate with agencies and stakeholders, processing data change requests and supporting department priorities with precise, timely work.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, transportation engineering, public administration, economic development or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree plus one year of relevant city planning experience in housing, transportation or land planning.
• Equivalent combination of education/experience with required bachelor’s degree; graduate coursework may substitute for experience.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain the first-ever city-wide GIS dataset comprising the legal City Map, to be adopted by Jan 1, 2029.
• Convert street title data and City Map from paper to digital format using ArcGIS.
• Update digital coverages following rezonings and City Map amendments.
• Prepare sketch maps describing proposed City Map changes for Community Boards, Borough Presidents, City Planning Commission and City Council.
• Process City Map and street title data change requests.
• Coordinate with city agencies, external partners and constituents.
