Job summary

Interdependence is seeking a Virtual CISO & Cybersecurity Practice Lead to oversee cybersecurity for mid-market clients. This role involves managing security risk assessments, compliance frameworks, and incident response while leading a team and building a new cybersecurity practice. Candidates should have significant hands-on experience in cybersecurity and a strong business development background, particularly in engaging with executive leadership. The compensation includes a base salary of $200,000 to $300,000, plus performance bonuses and equity potential.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience spanning at least two areas.
• 3+ years operating at the CISO or Director of Security level.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the outsourced CISO for 8–12 clients providing security leadership.
• Conduct security risk assessments and penetration testing oversight.
• Present security posture and risk exposure to boards and executives.
