Job summary

NAPAWF is seeking a Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to lead strategic planning, advocacy, external influence, and organizational positioning. This role reports to the Executive Director and supervises senior program leaders, aligning policy, field, digital membership, and communications to maximize impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior-level experience in strategy, advocacy, policy, organizing, or movement building.
• Strong experience with Capitol Hill and federal policymaking.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and lead campaigns.
• Senior leadership and people-management experience.
• Ability to align strategy with program execution.
• Strong political judgment and external relationship building.
• Experience advising executives on strategy and external affairs.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership to NAPAWF’s programmatic departments.
• Supervise senior leaders and set priorities.
• Translate external insights into organizational strategy.
• Represent NAPAWF at conferences, coalitions, and hearings.
• Guide relationships with policymakers and movement partners.
• Support strategic cross-departmental alignment across teams.
