Job summary

Waybox in the United States is seeking a Chief of Staff to scale the founders’ office and coordinate company-wide programs across a fifteen-hour time difference. You’ll own the operating rhythm, prepare briefs and decision memos, and stand up the early back office to hand off to specialists later.

The role requires deep startup operations experience, exceptional written communication, and comfort with travel to Shenzhen to align global teams. Equity is offered for an early core member.

Qualifications

• 5+ years across startup operations, a founders’ office, consulting, banking or venture.
• Ability to turn messy discussion into a one-page memo that drives action.
• Comfortable with numbers: model, BOM cost roll-up, hiring plan, burn forecast.
• Genuinely organized and able to hold twenty threads without dropping one.
• Judgement about what matters; know what not to do.
• Willing to travel to Shenzhen and work across time zones.
• Discretion; you will see everything.

Responsibilities

• Run the company’s operating rhythm: goals, weekly reviews, board and investor reporting, and the follow-through that makes them mean something.
• Own cross-functional programmes end to end — launch readiness, hiring plans, vendor and partner negotiations, fundraise materials and diligence.
• Hold the two halves of the company together across a fifteen-hour time difference, so a decision made in Los Altos is understood in Shenzhen and the reverse.
• Prepare the founders for what is next: briefs, decision memos, and the research behind them.
• Stand up the early back office — recruiting process, contracts, tooling, vendors — well enough that it can be handed to a specialist later.
• Take on whatever is most in the way, and hand it off once it has an owner.
