Job summary

Amerco Associated Spring is seeking an Information Technology Specialist with a strong background in information security. You will lead enterprise security strategy, implement policies, and drive risk assessments and incident response across the organization.

The role emphasizes governance, regulatory compliance, collaboration with IT and business units, and ongoing learning to address evolving threats. This remote position focuses on protecting data and supporting business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information security or related field.
• Preferred CISSP or CISM certification.
• 5–10 years of information security management experience with proven security strategy delivery.
• Deep knowledge of information security principles, risk management, and incident response.
• Experience with change management processes and governance.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to influence across levels.
• Experience with GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an enterprise-wide information security strategy and roadmap.
• Establish and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate threats.
• Design and manage security controls to protect IT infrastructure and data.
• Monitor security incidents and coordinate response and recovery activities.
• Provide leadership to the information security team and drive development.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate security requirements.
• Stay updated on threats and best practices to enhance security posture.
• Lead compliance efforts for GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and other standards.
