Job summary

Marketplace Chaplains seeks a part-time chaplain to serve employees and their families at client sites in Cullman, AL and surrounding areas. The role involves regular visits, confidential pastoral counseling, and support for grief and life issues, with a focus on Christian ministry within the workplace.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary group in an interfaith setting.
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills; strong communication with clients and families.
• Demonstrates spiritual maturity and Christian lifestyle aligned with MCHAP values.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication; stable under stress.

Responsibilities

• Serve as messenger of faith, mission, and purpose for employees and their families.
• Visit company worksites regularly (usually weekly) to build relationships of trust.
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions and referrals for employees and families.
• Assist in planning or attending funerals and provide post-termination support as needed.
• Engage with companies to communicate Employee Care Service and chaplain role.
