Job summary

RJR Partners is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer for a PE-backed software company in turnaround. This hands-on leader will own financial strategy, manage investor and board relationships, and build discipline across finance, operations, and key administrative functions.

Remote option in United States or Canada; reports to the CEO. 7+ years in finance and operations leadership for technology/SaaS; experienced with turnarounds and M&A a plus; base compensation is $200k–$225k per year.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive finance and operations leadership in technology companies with SaaS experience.
• Experience in turnaround, restructuring, or performance improvement, preferably PE-backed.
• Proven track record in M&A activity and integration across finance and ops.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and SaaS metrics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic partner to CEO and board, shaping turnaround plans and long-term roadmap.
• Oversee FP&A, budgeting, reporting, audit, compliance, and capital allocation.
• Lead integration of acquisitions and evaluate future M&A opportunities.
• Improve margins, cash flow, and cost structure in partnership with PE sponsor.
• Drive company-wide metric visibility with cross-functional teams.
• Manage back-office, HR, and outsourced accounting; potential RevOps/IT staff.
• Implement scalable processes and data visibility for a data-driven finance function.
• Present performance and opportunities to board and PE sponsor with clarity.
