Expect 8-hour Eastern shifts, with initial in-person training and ongoing compliance duties. The role requires CRAC certification or active pursuit within 12 months and 2 years of risk adjustment coding experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Must be certified or obtaining Certification for CRAC through AAPC; if not obtained, within one year.
• Two years of experience in risk adjustment coding.
• Ability to verify and validate HCCs and educate providers on guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assign and sequence ICD and CPT codes from medical records.
• Abstract and verify data; respond to audit feedback and spot checks.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation for billing and compliance.
• Monitor records for timeliness; address uncoded or rejected items.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and reimbursement requirements.
