Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Certified Peer Support Worker to serve Santa Fe, NM, working from home with extensive community travel. The role focuses on non-clinical, evidence-based peer support, advocacy, and recovery planning to empower members’ wellness and resilience.

Candidates must have lived experience, CPRS/CPS/CPSS/CRPS/PRSS as required by state, and be prepared to obtain NCPS within a year. A vehicle and valid license are necessary for regular field travel.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain National Peer Support Credential (NCPS/NCPRSS) within one year of hire.
• Must be a self-identified person in recovery who can relate to others using MH/SUD services.
• Must have a vehicle in good working condition and the ability to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to members with mental health and substance use conditions.
• Guide members in creating WRAP to identify wellness self-management and crisis prevention strategies.
• Utilize the 8 dimensions of wellness to address whole health goals.
• Advise on recovery goals and participate in the member's care team.
• Develop problem-solving skills and address challenges in recovery.
