Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide non-clinical peer support services in the Grants, NM area. This position involves extensive community travel and requires the candidate to be a self-identified person in recovery.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in peer support, possess a certification as a Peer Specialist, and have strong communication skills. This role advocates for members with mental health and substance use conditions, helping them establish recovery goals and access necessary resources.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience providing peer support to children or adolescents.
• Required CPRS/CPS/CPSS/CRPS/PRSS certification.
• Self-identified person in recovery.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle in working condition.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to members with mental health and substance use issues.
• Guide members in creating Wellness Recovery Action Plans.
• Advocate for member needs and address service gaps.
• Document all interactions according to company standards.
