Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a Clinical Documentation Specialist to perform chart reviews, initial DRG assignments, and compliant physician queries. You'll collaborate with coders, educators, case managers and providers to ensure documentation reflects severity and CMS standards.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree, 4+ years direct patient care, 2+ years CDI experience, and encoder/DRG familiarity. This is a remote US-wide role with Guidehouse Recruiting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; RN/MD/MD Equivalent preferred.
• 4+ years direct patient care in inpatient settings.
• 2+ years CDI experience and familiarity with encoder/DRG systems.
• Knowledge of official coding guidelines and coding clinics.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inpatient chart reviews for documentation clarity.
• Assign initial DRG and document CDI findings in the system.
• Submit physician queries when documentation is unclear or missing and follow up.
• Collaborate with Coders, Educators, Case Managers and Providers to ensure CMS alignment.
