Job summary

Sazerac is seeking a remote Category Manager to drive insights and strategies across the Liquor channel for the company’s brands and retailer partners. You’ll translate data into actionable recommendations, support national retailers, and collaborate with sales leadership to execute growth initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in CPG/category management, strong data visualization skills (Power BI/Tableau), and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Category Management, Shopper Insights, Trade Marketing, or Customer Strategy experience in CPG/beverage/alcohol.
• Experience supporting national large format retailers (e.g., grocery chains, Total Wine & More, Walmart).
• Ability to translate data into customer-facing recommendations that drive results.
• Strong expertise with syndicated data (Nielsen/Circana), panel data, and retailer platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong communication and presentation skills; highly self-motivated and independent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver integrated consumer, category, and market insights to inform retailer strategy and in-store execution in the liquor channel.
• Act as category steward for major liquor chains and develop insight-led recommendations.
• Identify incremental sales, space, and assortment opportunities for mutual growth.
• Create bite-size, sellable insights for field sales to unlock distribution and shelf growth.
• Translate data into clear selling stories for customer conversations.
• Collaborate with sales leadership to align insights with priorities and initiatives.
• Analyze data from Nielsen/Circana, Numerator, and retailer systems to uncover growth drivers.
• Create visuals and narratives using Power BI, Excel, and planogram tools; focus on actionable next steps.
• Operate autonomously in a remote-first environment and drive projects end-to-end.
• Conduct periodic in-market store visits to validate insights and find opportunities.
• Stay updated on industry trends and shopper behavior to keep insights forward-looking.
• Build scalable processes and best practices to improve efficiency and growth.
