Job summary

Ascend Performance Materials is seeking a Category Manager - Direct Materials in the Greater Houston area who will develop and execute sourcing strategies for toll manufacturing, catalysts, and other direct materials across global operations. This role emphasizes cost optimization, supplier relationships, and collaboration with Manufacturing, Technology, Engineering, and Sustainability teams.

BS/BA degree in a technical field.
8+ years of procurement or engineering experience with strategic purchasing.
ERP experience; SAP and GEP preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct materials including toll manufacturing, catalysts, and raw materials.
Lead supplier selection, onboarding, contract negotiations, and performance management for tolling partners.
Negotiate manufacturing and supply agreements to support category strategies.
Partner with Manufacturing, Technology, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to qualify suppliers and support strategic initiatives.
Drive supplier relationships and communication between internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
Support sustainability goals and ensure ethical standards are followed.
