Job summary

Westlake Chemical seeks a Direct Materials Category Manager to develop and execute a global sourcing strategy for direct raw material categories, ensuring supply continuity and favorable terms. You will lead cross-functional teams, negotiate contracts, drive cost reductions, and analyze market conditions to support EBITDA and supply resilience for multiple business units.

Travel may be required; experience in petrochemical industry and supplier management programs preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, refining or petrochemical industries.
• Knowledge of raw material additives and the global sourcing footprint.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills.
• Extensive knowledge of petrochemical industries and category spend.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes the strategic plan for sourcing, procurement and logistics of Direct Raw Material categories.
• Serve as the commercial subject matter expert with Business Unit Technical Teams to increase supply resiliency and new products.
• Identify and implement best-in-class sourcing practices to meet KPI targets.
• Develop and implement category objectives with KPIs and cost reduction goals.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop and maintain global sourcing strategies.
• Direct market analysis and assess category strategy against volume, quality and total delivered cost.
