Job summary

Southwestern Law School is seeking an Assistant Director, Online JD Advisor, to guide Online JD students and alumni through career planning, resume and interview preparation, and professional development. The role supports a remote program and partners with the Career Services Team to deliver programming and resources.

The position requires a JD degree and 2–3 years in legal practice or counseling law students, with strong writing, editing, and interpersonal skills to advise diverse candidates

Qualifications

• JD degree required.
• 2–3 years of experience in legal practice and/or counseling law students.

Responsibilities

• Advise Online JD students and alumni on career goals and opportunities.
• Provide counseling on self-evaluation, career exploration, and job search materials.
• Collaborate with the Associate Dean and career services team on employment outcomes and program resources.
• Assist in creating and updating career service handouts and guides for online students.
• Promote career services to online students, alumni, and employers.
• Help plan and execute networking fairs, job fairs, and recruitment programs.
• Build relationships with diverse employers, alumni, students, staff, and faculty.
• Represent the CSO at professional meetings and liaise with other law schools’ career counselors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
