Job summary

Southwestern Law School is seeking an Assistant Director, Online J.D. Advisor to guide online J.D. students and alumni through career planning, self-assessment, and job search strategies. The role reports to the Associate Dean of Career Services and is fully remote.

Responsibilities include advising across all Online J.D. programs, updating resources, coordinating networking events, and building employer relationships to improve graduate employment outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Advise Online J.D. students and alumni on career goals through self-evaluation and counseling about the legal job search and career development.
• Advise Online J.D. students (Full-time and Part-time) and alumni; provide flexible advising hours as needed.
• Collaborate with the Associate Dean and CSO leadership to share graduate employment outcomes and best practices.
• Assist in creating and updating CSO handouts, guides, and resources for online students.
• Promote CSO programs and services to online students, alumni, and potential employers.
• Coordinate networking fairs, job fairs, recruitment programs, and other career development activities.
• Cultivate positive relationships with geographically diverse employers, alumni, students, staff, and faculty.
• Represent CSO at meetings of professional organizations and interface with career counselors at other law schools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
