Qualifications

• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC
• 2+ years of cardiology coding experience (ICD-10 and CPT)
• Experience with EMR systems and Windows environment
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and modifiers

Responsibilities

• Review provider docs and medical records to assign diagnosis and procedures
• Abstract and code professional fee services for non-invasive cardiology procedures
• Apply CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and modifiers per guidelines
• Ensure documentation supports billed procedures
• Address denials and audit findings to support reimbursement
• Maintain productivity and quality per organizational standards
• Stay current with coding regulations and payer updates
