Qualifications

• Outpatient coding experience required with focus on cardiac surgery.
• 3+ years of outpatient coding, with 2+ years in cardiovascular coding preferred.
• Current coding certification: CPC, CCS, or COC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient cardiac surgery encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Ensure compliance with NCCI edits and payer-specific rules.
• Review operative and documentation reports for accurate coding.
• Abstract data into EHR and billing systems accurately.
• Support audit and denials management with corrective recommendations.
