Job summary

PowerSwitch Action is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to drive campaigns that build multiracial feminist democracy. You will partner with local affiliates across the US to manage campaigns, digital strategy, and narrative development.

You’ll lead email and social media programs, craft messaging, and lift up stories from community members and grassroots leaders to inspire national action. You will report to the Communications Director and collaborate with campaigners, researchers,

Qualifications

• On-the-ground experience leading communications for organizing, advocacy, basebuilding, or corporate campaigns.
• Experience managing email programs and social media platforms.
• Demonstrated success growing email and social media programs, or applying innovative digital tactics.
• Ability to write quickly and sharply for a variety of audiences and formats.
• Strong organization and tracking skills; able to manage multiple campaigns remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications for 1-2 major campaigns or programs at a time.
• Develop communications strategy with campaigners, affiliates, and partners.
• Craft messaging and talking points to shape public narratives.
• Write op-eds, press releases, emails, social content, scripts, and blogs.
• Support earned media and spokesperson preparation for local communicators.
• Advise affiliates to build capacity in campaign communications.
