Job summary

Kemper Corporation is seeking a Regional Sales Director for the California Region. This role works remotely with travel within CA, leading the Business Development Field Team to drive premium growth and underwriting profitability.

You will coordinate with Product Development and Claims to meet goals and guide a high-performing team across the territory. Applicants should have 10+ years in sales, 7+ years in insurance, and at least 5 years in leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum 10+ years of progressive responsibility in the sales field.
7+ years of experience within the insurance industry.
5++ years of leadership experience.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Bi-lingual preferred.
Personal Lines experience; Commercial lines experience preferred.
Proven record of sales success and sales management accomplishments.
Knowledge of sales process; ability to read and decipher financial reports and records.
Superior communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills and high energy/initiative.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and implements sales strategies to increase sales and profitability within the California region.
Leads and coaches the regional sales team; sets objectives, monitors performance, and ensures policy compliance.
Oversees training and development of team members, including new hires.
Ensures agency appointments meet criteria and maintains relationships with key agents in the territory.
Coordinates continuing education for agencies and tracks progress against production commitments.
Monitors compliance with underwriting guidelines and regional budgeted targets.
