Job summary

National Interstate Insurance Company seeks a California Senior Workers’ Comp Claims Specialist to join our team. This position is fully remote from the United States. You will manage a large inventory of complex claims, lead investigations, and negotiate settlements with insureds and claimants.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 13+ years of P&C claims experience, and preferred AIC designation. CA WC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 13 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Professional designation such as AIC preferred.
• CA workers' compensation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large inventory of highly complex workers' compensation claims to evaluate compensability and liability.
• Lead investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability and damages.
• Analyze and negotiate settlements and reserves within authority; may attend arbitrations or trials.
• Communicate complex coverage and settlement information to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorize payments within authority and ensure timely disbursement; maintain detailed claim files.
• May supervise staff and participate in talent decisions and performance management.
