Job summary

Building Decarbonization Coalition seeks a California Government Affairs Associate Director to lead policy development and legislative advocacy in California. You will provide research, policy analysis, and technical assistance to members and partners, while advancing a state-level strategy in coordination with the California Director.

Based remotely in California, with strong travel as needed, you will work with a small team to build relationships with policymakers, labor, and environmental

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience advocating and developing policy, preferably with building electrification, power sector, and/or climate solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of California policy and legislative agenda.
• Provide research, policy analysis, and technical assistance to Coalition members and stakeholders.
• Advocate for policy priorities with legislators, Governor’s Office, agencies, labor unions, and environmental groups.
• Develop materials to educate elected and appointed officials on benefits of sponsored legislation.
• Build relationships with policymakers and coalition partners to move policy agendas forward.
• Convene NGOs, labor, industry leaders, equity groups to address barriers and lift up vulnerable communities.
