Job summary

Ohio Connections Academy is seeking a part-time Business Adjunct to teach from home in Ohio. You will manage subject-specific instruction, monitor student progress, and provide guidance for a middle school caseload.

You will communicate with learning coaches and students by phone, email and online conferencing; score assignments; and tailor instructional approaches. The ideal candidate holds Ohio teaching certification and demonstrates strong technology skills.

Qualifications

• Ohio teaching certification appropriate to grade level and subject.
• Strong technology skills with Office and Google Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Customer-focused and flexible.
• Experience with online instruction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with parents/learning coaches, students and teachers via the phone, WebMail, asynchronous discussions, and synchronous conference calls.
• Instruct students, monitor work, provide feedback, and suggest instructional approaches and strategies.
• Monitor completion of assignments and score assessments in the subject area.
• Conduct online tutorial sessions for students using web conferencing tools.
• Develop detailed curriculum knowledge for the responsible subject area.
• Provide struggling students and parents with alternative strategies and additional assistance.
