Job summary

Harvard Medical School Information Systems is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to lead requirements elicitation, journey mapping, and process redesign. The role supports the Harvard Integrated Life Sciences Administration, shaping technology strategies and SDLC activities from inception to production support.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years defining software requirements, familiarity with Peoplesoft Campus Solutions and Oracle BI/Analytics, and strong communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in defining requirements for desktop, mobile, or web-based software applications and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Peoplesoft Campus Solutions and/or Oracle BI/Analytics preferred.
• Demonstrated team performance delivering technology solutions with a service mindset.
• Familiarity with agile methodology and agile frameworks and tools.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills; able to work with stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Troubleshooting, problem resolution, and project management experience.
• Completion of Harvard IT Academy foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, documentation, implementation, configuration, and validation of solutions to business needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technology strategies and requirements.
• Lead definition of system requirements, gap analysis, and feasible alternatives.
• Document current and future state processes and gain stakeholder support.
• Define Agile user stories and manage data conversion, integration, and security.
• Prioritize user stories with stakeholders and IT team to ensure delivery.
• Assess business impact of applications and propose changes as needed.
• Assist with change management and training materials.
• Partner with IT and university officials to assess integration opportunities.
