Job summary

The Helmsman Group LLC is seeking a Remote Business Analyst to analyze, document, and improve business processes, driving efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting organizational goals. You will collaborate with stakeholders, IT, and project managers to understand needs and develop practical solutions.

You will document current and future states, create process maps, and translate requirements into actionable system specs, with a focus on automation opportunities and measurable KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 2–5 years of experience in business analysis or process improvement.
• Experience documenting and analyzing business processes and workflows.
• Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder-interviewing skills.
• Experience creating process maps, flowcharts, and functional specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing business processes, workflows, procedures, and operations.
• Conduct current-state and future-state process assessments.
• Document processes using flowcharts, maps, workflows, and SOPs.
• Identify gaps, bottlenecks, redundancies, and control issues.
• Gather and document business requirements via interviews, workshops, and surveys.
• Translate requirements into clear process and system requirements.
• Develop BRDs, functional specs, and use cases.
• Develop future-state process models and improvement plans.
• Collaborate with IT, PMO, operations, and finance to implement improvements.
• Create KPIs and metrics to measure process performance.
• Support UAT with test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Assist with change management, training, and adoption activities.
• Monitor improvements and ensure updates are communicated.
