Job summary

Nome Public Schools is seeking a Remote Building Maintenance Technician to service Nome, AK facilities. The role covers preventative and emergency maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems with shift rotation and on-site housing provided in Nome.

The candidate should have 3+ years in building maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and basic proficiency in Word/Excel. A strong focus on safety and documentation is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of verifiable experience in building maintenance, electrical, HVAC or plumbing.
• Basic skills in Word and Excel; ability to operate a Maintenance Work Order System.
• Driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related building systems.
• Maintain and document work orders; monitor building automation and safety systems.
• Repair fixtures, perform carpentry, painting and general building upkeep.
• Assist with organizing the maintenance shop and ensure smooth shift handoffs.
• Adhere to Nome Public Schools Maintenance and Safety Standards.
