Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services in Austin seeks a Budget Analyst III to assist in developing regional operating budgets, manage expenditures, and produce monthly budget reports using CAPPS Financials and Excel.

The role supports accounts payable/receivable, coordinates the regional online purchasing system, and serves as supervisor for purchasing processes while ensuring compliance and accuracy. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in using accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with financial automated systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated in the application.
• Experience in gathering data and producing statistical reports.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy.
• Assists in managing regional fiscal functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the supply ordering system; audits purchase vouchers for proper coding and approval.
• Develops and maintains reports to manage regional operating budgets; runs routine and ad hoc queries using CAPPS Financials.
• Serves as regional super-user in requisition purchasing; manages cost pool supply ordering and TXSmartBuy integration.
• Provides technical support on funds availability and budget procedures; assists vendors and staff on accounts payable.
• Ensures payment records are organized for audit; responds to inquiries from staff and vendors.
