Job summary

State of Indiana is seeking a Budget Analyst to support accounting leadership, drive financial reporting, and guide budgeting for multiple service lines. The role emphasizes PeopleSoft expertise, strong analytical skills, and ability to work with senior finance stakeholders in a remote setting.

You will prepare budgets, perform cost analyses, and develop financial statements while maintaining internal controls and collaborating across teams to advance agency goals.

Qualifications

• Requires extensive working knowledge of PeopleSoft HR/Financials and related modules.
• Excellent communication in individual and group settings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong budgeting, financial analysis and report writing abilities.
• Experience with chartfields, grants/expense coding, and policy interpretation.
• Must understand agency operations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor budgets, generate reports, and analyze fund spending and GL activity.
• Support budget processes, SPEED entries, and projected spending communications.
• Write and modify queries to extract/refine financial data.
• Ensure proper chartfield setup and respond to chartfield requests.
• Attend standing meetings and assist with ad-hoc finance questions.
