Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote BIM Coordinator to support construction projects with a distributed team. You will manage BIM models, ensure data integrity, and lead clash detection and federated models across disciplines.

This fully remote role requires proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, plus strong communication to coordinate with project teams and deliver standards-compliant workflows across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a BIM Coordinator or BIM Specialist.
• Portfolio of BIM projects required.
• Proficiency in BIM software including Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, IFC and COBie.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate BIM models and project data across Architecture, Structural, MEP.
• Conduct regular clash detection and resolve issues promptly.
• Develop and enforce BIM execution plans and standards.
• Foster communication and collaboration among project teams on BIM deliverables.
• Generate reports on model quality and progress against BIM standards.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Remote BIM Coordinator to join their innovative team supporting construction projects across South Africa. In this fully remote position, you will be instrumental in managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes, ensuring data integrity and seamless collaboration among project teams. You will work with digital models, facilitate clash detection, and support the creation of federated models for various construction disciplines. This role requires exceptional technical proficiency in BIM software and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a distributed work environment. You will play a crucial role in enhancing project efficiency and accuracy through advanced digital workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate BIM models and project data across multiple disciplines (Architecture, Structural, MEP).
• Conduct regular clash detection and interference checks, documenting and resolving issues promptly.
• Develop and enforce BIM execution plans and standards for projects.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members regarding BIM deliverables.
• Generate reports on model quality, progress, and adherence to BIM standards.
• Provide technical support and training on BIM software and workflows to project teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a BIM Coordinator or BIM Specialist, with a strong portfolio of work.
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and workflows, including IFC and COBie .
• Experience with clash detection and model federation techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role .
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a virtual setting.
